Shira Freilich
Undergraduate, Vassar College
Shira Freilich is currently a senior at Vassar College studying Biochemistry and worked in the Eliezer lab during the summer of 2024. At both Vassar and Weill Cornell, her research focused on the biophysical characterization of intrinsically disordered proteins associated with neurodegenerative diseases. She is currently interested in pursuing a PhD in chemical biology or biochemistry and hopes to study the structure and pharmacology of clinically relevant membrane proteins.

Ben Davis
Undergraduate, Amherst College
Ben Davis is currently a junior at Amherst College studying Neuroscience and worked in the Eliezer lab during the summer of 2024. During this time, he used NMR data to map neurodegeneration-related protein's interactions with voltage-dependent anion channel (VDAC). At Amherst, he works in the Jaswal Lab, where he uses hydrogen exchange mass spectrometry data to find the kinetic rate constants for "folding-challenged" proteins and intends to complete a thesis on this topic during his senior year. In the future, he is interested in pursuing an MS.

Nina Goldshmid
Undergraduate, Barnard College
Nina Goldshmid graduated from Barnard college with a Biochemistry major and Science and Public Policy minor. She is currently in her gap year before medical school at AmeriCorps. Nina worked in the Eliezer lab for a year, investigating intrinsically disordered proteins and their fibrillation properties in relation to neurodegenerative diseases. She hopes to use her clinical experiences and research to further her understanding of neuropharmacology and public health.
